Chodesh Elul starts this Friday, and the first page of this calendar is already waiting for it.
Starter Library has put up a Hebrew wall calendar for the ה'תשפ"ו–תשפ"ז school year, laid out for a Chabad classroom. It is one print-ready PDF, a page a month, landscape, meant to be printed once and hung where the whole class can see it.
What earns it the wall space is how much sits on a single page without it feeling crowded. Every day carries its kapitlach of Tehillim. The Shabbos column adds the parsha and the perek of Pirkei Avos. Rosh Chodesh, Kiddush Levana, the Selichos count and the chassidishe dates are marked where they fall, so a talmid whose eyes wander to the wall picks up the shape of the month without anyone teaching it to him.
Each month opens with a line of Chassidus across the top. Elul's is from Likkutei Torah:
הַמֶּלֶךְ בַּשָּׂדֶה וּמְקַבֵּל אֶת כּוּלָם בְּסֵבֶר פָּנִים יָפוֹת וּמַרְאֶה פָּנִים שׂוֹחֲקוֹת לְכוּלָם
— לקוטי תורה, פרשת ראה לב, ב
On every page
- The full Hebrew month, color-coded by day of the week
- Daily kapitlach of Tehillim
- Parsha and Pirkei Avos on Shabbos
- Rosh Chodesh, Kiddush Levana and the Selichos count
- Chassidishe dates and yomei d'pagra
It is listed pay-what-you-want, so a school printing one for every classroom decides what that is worth. Rosh Hashana falls on Shabbos, September 12 — there is still time to get it printed and on the wall.
